Description: The role of a Field Care Supervisor is to contribute to people remaining safely in their own home with independence and enablement by assessing and completing person centred care plans (including risk assessments) to ensure the delivery of safe, caring, effective, responsive care with ongoing consent and continuous review; promoting individual privacy and dignity at all times.

• To understand the Company, including the structure of the organisation.

• To have a sound understanding of compliance within regulated activities and to exercise compliance   in line with legislation, Company Policies and Procedures and CQC guidelines at all times.

• To know and access company policies and procedures and values in order to support and develop the care team effectively. 

• To ensure that all people who use our services and other stakeholders have sufficient information in suitable formats about the Company in a timely manner.  

• To understand the requirements of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 working within the principles of the Code of Practice; , company and regulated guidelines.

• To have a sound understanding of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and associated legislation

• To ensure that the Manager has enough information about the needs of people who use services so that specific training can be commissioned.

• To communicate openly, honestly and effectively with people who use services, carers and all stakeholders involved in the completion and review of their personal centred care plan and all  existing and new care packages  in accordance with company systems and timescales

• To use and continually update company systems and processes to record any concerns and to report to your line manager relating to significant changes in the service user’s health and support needs by working closely with the care team.  

• To undertake as required, individual care and support planning and formal reviews, with qualitative, positive outcomes.

• To be part of the “on-call” rota to ensure that emergency support is provided as and when required – emergency support is provided on a 24 hour basis.

• To ensure competency in then care team and to identify and put measures in place according to company policy and procedures, for those staff members who have not met the required level of performance

• To liaise regularly with care -coordinators to ensure that ECM (Electronic Call Monitoring) system is accurate and people who use our services have the agreed time of care and care delivery to meet their needs and as agreed within their care plan

• To ensure all staff are kept fully informed of changes in administrative procedures and ensure they are adhered to. 

• To ensure the Company’s complaints policy and procedures are followed by the care worker team.

o To support the Registered Manager in all complaint investigations, as requested to do so. 

o To keep legible, accurate and detailed records in line with company policy and regulatory requirements, and operate effectively systems and processes which are required within regulated activities.

• To understand and comply with both Company and legislative requirements regarding confidentiality and Data protection within the Act 1998.

• To attend regular staff meetings and to be the liaison between the office and the care workers by ensuring effective  two way information flow. 

• In accordance with Company and local policies:

• Identify the potential for abuse and take appropriate measures

• Support the manager to represent the company at meetings relating to people who use our services, safeguarding and other agencies

• To understand the consequences of failing to take action on any set requirements. 

• The post holder will ensure any changes to their personal circumstances including any criminal proceedings being taken against them, any convictions and any changes to their health that may affect their ability to work are reported to their line manager. 

• To undertake training as is appropriate to ensure the post holder has the skills and experience necessary for continued management of the service. 

• To perform any other lesser or comparable duties commensurate with the nature and level of the post as and when required by the management team
